Dr. Mike Larsen

Michael Larsen, Ph.D. is a statistician whose expertise areas include survey sampling, missing data, record linkage and administrative records, disclosure limitation and confidentiality, Bayesian statistics, hierarchical and mixture models, and statistical modeling of complex data. He has consulted for and collaborated with researchers at a number of government agencies (Census, SEC, IRS), research organizations, and academic departments. From 2008-2010 he was Executive Editor of CHANCE magazine. He has published numerous books and articles on statistics. An example is a book chapter “Concepts in Sample Surveys” in e-Source: Behavioral and Social Science Research Interactive Textbook. (2009). (Eds. McKinlay JB, Marceau LD).  

Dr. Mike Larsen is a Professor at St. Michael’s College, Vermont, Department of Mathematics (Statistics). He received a Ph.D. in Statistics from Harvard University. 

Leroy Hewitt

Mr. Leroy Hewitt is a well-rounded consultant with over 25 years’ experience in PMO / Program Management, Enterprise / Solution Architecture and Leadership. His areas of expertise include Program / Project Management, Application Development / Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Technical Leadership, Security Design / Implementation / C&A, Requirements Analysis / Management, Life Cycle Management, Data Management, Service Management, Proposal Development, Technical Writing, and Training involving some of the largest enterprise networks in the world. He has taken numerous projects through the entire life-cycle process at HHS, CMS, SSA, DoD, DOJ, INS / ICE, US Military, Government Contractors, and numerous public / private / international organizations. Mr. Hewitt also has more than 35,000 hours of in-class instruction as a Senior Professor / Trainer for most colleges / universities in Maryland and southern Pennsylvania supporting both academia and certifications, including Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland Training Centers, Millersville University, York Technical College and TESST College. He holds CISSP among many other certifications.

David Hughes

Mr. Hughes is a seasoned IT architect in Enterprise Architecture and Data Governance spanning the Federal, Defense and private sectors with concentrations on enterprise IT strategy and solution development. His most recent experiences defined and fostered business transformation within the federal and public sectors by combining enterprise and segment architecture techniques with solution architecture, such as FDA, SEC and DHA. Prior to focusing on IT solution strategy and enterprise architecture, Mr. Hughes was a senior technical architect and software developer.

Thomas Warfield

Mr. Thomas Warfield has over 25 years’ expert experience in a spectrum of Information Technology fields, including Database Administration, Data Architecture, Project Management, Data Warehousing, Software Development, Web Site Development, and Network Administration. He has served a variety of customers, offering high-quality, flexible, and reliable solutions to data management and analysis problems, including schema design and disaster planning, stored procedure development, database tuning and query optimization, and scripting with numerous programming tools, such as SQL (Oracle PL/SQL, Microsoft T-SQL, and MySQL), COBOL, Java, ASP.NET, HTML, PHP, CSS, XML, VBScript and JavaScript.

Thomas has given presentations in Database Management and Website Development conferences held by the International Oracle User’s Group (IOUG-A). He is a co-author of the book, “Born to Stand Out: Tips to Becoming an Excellent Computer Consultant”. He earned his M.S. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Simulation from George Washington University.

Dr. Yangjing Lin

Dr. Lin has over 20 years of experience in statistical analysis and data management across multiple areas such as immigration, financial, health and insurance industries. He has over 7 years of professional experiences in several federal government agencies ranging from homeland security, DOJ, HUD to USDA. He is a subject matter expert in immigration fraud detection. While he worked at USCIS Fraud Detection Unit, he designed marriage fraud detection and worked on fraud detection methodology papers. He also participated in data testing, data modeling in that effort. Dr. Lin also served as a task lead at USDA FSIS for two years. In that role, he was in charge of completing SOP, testing plans and weekly/monthly reporting. He was also directly involved in designing and coding the entire automation process including loading the data, processing data, writing the letters with words and graphs and sending them through emails to various plants and the management at FSIS. Dr. Lin is well versed in SAS programming in areas such as data steps, advanced macros, stored process, web reporting, OLAP, SAS Portal and SAS Information Map. He is very familiar with Unix, IBM mainframe, SAS enterprise guide application, excel, PDF and HTML. He is solid in regression analysis and predictive modeling.

Dr. Lin holds an MPA from Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy. He also holds a PhD from the State University of New York at Albany.
